MICHAEL FLEEMAN
West Palm Beach, FL

There were many notable occurrences at the fourth annual Smoke Inn Series of Poker. It was the first time for new manufacturer sponsors, Gurkha & Siglo brands. It was the longest SISOP tourney to date with almost 8.5 hours of play. The average value of the SISOP packages was an amazing $450! This is credited to the extreme generosity of the sponsoring manufacturers.
The day began with a field of 125 cigar smoking poker players. This year the elimination process was at it’s slowest pace ever. After an exceedingly long day of over 8 hours of play, we reached a final table of which had many unfamiliar faces. After many hands of play and chip exchanges, we were down to our final two players, Frank Kapp, CAO representative and Michael Fleeman, West Palm Beach poker dealer. Frank had a commanding 3 to 1 chip lead and looked for certain to be this year’s champ. However, Michael’s all in push with pocket nines versus Frank’s J, Q suited quickly turned the tables and Franks was unable to recover. With blinds dwindling his stack, Frank called Michael’s all in, and once again Michael’s J, 5 suited defeated Franks’s K, 7 off suit, making him the 2009 SISOP Champion! Congrats, and best of luck in Vegas!
